Deep sharing

No, it’s not a new form of shiatzu. In Educause Review July/August, 2003, “Deep Sharing: a case for a federated digital library” by David Seaman, the director of the Digital Library Foundation. The distributed online digital library (DODL) is a very exciting idea indeed, but it puts libraries directly in the path of the RIAA and others who want to constrict access and distribution of digital content. Stay tuned for the coming P2P/intellectual property battles.
