Now fans call the tune

August 3, 2003

Los Angeles Times: Now fans call the tune. This feature article describes the revolution in the music industry and marketing. A description of the company “StreetWise Concepts and Culture” sounds very much like the marketing techniques described in William Gibson’s latest novel, Pattern Recognition. I think there is more too all this than the music industry, though. This seems to me to be a harbinger for a revolution in information exchange and the creation, use, and re-use of information.
