Billion-Dollar Campaigns at 25 Universities

25 American Universities collected a total of $428.9 million in gifts and pledges during month. The data is available from The Chronicle of Higher Education (subscription required). Below are 5 universities that are included on the data.

  • The California Institute of Technology, $1.03-billion as of May 31 (increase of $9.4-million in the last month); the goal is $1.4-billion by 2007.
  • Dartmouth College, $551.2-million as of May 31 (increase of $10.7-million in the last month); the goal is $1.3-billion by 2009.
  • The Johns Hopkins University, $1.741-billion as of May 31 (increase of $16.2-million in the last month); the goal is $2-billion by 2007.
  • Michigan State University, $988.1-million as of May 31 (increase of $11.6-million in the last month); the goal is $1.2-billion by 2007.
  • New York University, $1.37-billion as of June 30 (increase of $46.1-million in the past two months); the goal is $2.5-billion by 2008.
